Rishton will be Hyndburn's sole representatives in the semi finals after beating local rivals Accrington by 6 wickets at Blackburn Road. On a difficult wicket, Accrington made 114-9 with professional Tama Canning top scoring with 33. Canning was third out with the score on 45 after hitting two sixes and two fours. Graeme Sneddon made 25 and Tariq Hussain 16 with Kumar Dharmasena taking 2-13 and Richard Rostron 2-22 for the home side. Canning had Parvez Kazi snapped up by wicketkeeper Matt Wilson in his first over and Afzal also had Peter Sleep caught behind for 8. Wilson bagged his third catch when Sam Hacking got a bottom edge onto a Sneddon delivery but Dharmasena batted on to make an unbeaten 57 off 50 balls with five fours and one six as Rishton won with 3 overs to spare.
