Ramsbottom beat Accrington by 2 wickets at Thorneyholme Road.the home side made 145-8 with professional Tama Canning hitting 44, Matt Wilson 27, Graeme Sneddon 23 and Tariq Hussain 21. Kartik Murali took 3-23 in a typically tight ten over spell for the visitors. Canning then struck two early blows for Accrington removing Keith Webb (1) and skipper Richard Hevingham (8)and then Sneddon dismissed Chris Wood (9) to have Ramsbottom 28-3. A 4th wicket stand of 63 between Murali (22) and Simon Read (44) pulled the match round for Ramsbottom but Mick Horsfield dismissed them both in an impressive 6 over spell which yielded figures of 2-9. Zahir Afzal removed Chris Eardley and Robert Read but there was to be no repeat of the 1991 classic with Andy Dalby crowning an impressive senior debut with an unbeaten 15 as he and Andy Holt (11) put on a match winning 9th wicket stand of 24 to take Ramsbottom through.
