Sub professional Ian Mitchell made an impressive unbeaten 89 out of 123-4 for Accrington at Ramsbottom. The South African smashed seven sixes and four fours in just 116 balls, totally dominating proceedings before rain stopped him in full flow. No fewer than five balls were sent into orbit out of the ground and into the river alongside the ground. Ramsbottom's sub professional Jonathan Fielding took 3-54 in 14 overs, standing in for Kartik Murali.

Only two matches survived the weather on the opening day with league champions Haslingden and Colne the only clubs to notch up victories. The No Result games will be replayed on Saturday 25th June.
