Scorecard
Enfield (10pts) beat Accrington (5pts) by 3 runs

Accrington's defeat was the club's 16th in succession but they came agonisingly close to victory, losing wickets at vital times chasing Enfield's 207-6. Home professional Alviro Petersen made 78, with 11 boundaries, in a 2nd wicket stand of 117 with Craig Fergusson (43) after opener Andrew Windle (2) was bowled by Zahir Afzal. Mitch Taylor hit 40 before becoming the 21st Enfield player to be 'Run Out' this season. Phil Stanley added a late 27 with Tama Canning taking 4-75 in an unbroken 25 over stint. Neil Holmes soon removed Afzal (4) but Mohsin Ahmed (41) and Canning repaired the damage with a 2nd wicket stand of 88 before David Bracewell trapped Ahmed leg before. Petersen then had Canning caught behind by Andrew Higgins off a skied full toss for 54. Skipper Matt Wilson picked up the run rate with a 22 ball knock of 37, but he fell to the same combination as Canning trying one big shot too many after hitting five fours and a six. Stuart Crabtree made 23 before holing out as wickets fell regularly with the rate touching seven an over. It came down to the final two overs with Accrington needing 18 to notch a first win of the season. Adam Wilson had played well in making 27 but he was run out in the final over as Accrington fell short again. Mick Horsfield was unbeaten on 13 with Petersen (3-62) and David Bracewell (3-68) taking three wickets apiece for Enfield, who won for the fourth time.
