Colne (12pts) beat Accrington (1pt) by 5 wickets

Colne made it two wins out of two with a 5 wicket win over Accrington at the Horsfield. Professional Mahendra Nagamootoo was the star man taking 5-71 in a 24 over spell and then hitting an unbeaten 52 in just 31 balls as Colne sailed past Accrington's 133 in in the 25th over. The visitors were handicapped by a knee injury to professional Tama Canning which prevented him from bowling. Graeme Sneddon (27) and Sagawat Hussain (26) put on 38 for the 3rd wicket after Nagamootoo had removed opener Mohsin Ahmed (0) first ball and Paul Wilson had Canning (9) caught by his opposite number with just 11 runs on the board. Zahir Afzal made 22 and young Andrew Greenwood 15 but Jeff Ellis came on to wrap up the tail with 3-14. Ellis soon fell to Afzal for 1, but Wilson smashed seven fours and a six in a rapid 36 with Nagamootoo chipping in with six fours and three sixes against the visitors all amateur attack.
