Accrington v Church
Church recorded a second successive win but Accrington went down to a ninth successive league defeat in the local derby at Thorneyholme Road. The visitors were struggling at 82-6 after Tariq Hussain had claimed five of the first six wickets to fall during an unbroken spell that saw him take 8-98, his second 8 wicket haul of the season. A 7th wicket stand of 62 between professional Ruvin Peiris, who hit 11 boundaries in his innings of 81, and Philip Gilrane who hit a career best 41 helped take the score to 178 all out. Nick Westwell then made the most of the conditions, taking 7-37 as Accrington folded to 89 all out. Stuart Crabtree made an unbeaten 27, Tama Canning 27 and Tariq Hussain 11, the only home players to make double figures as Accrington's nightmare season continued.
