A late order rally helped Bacup to a fortunate run rate victory over Accrington at Lanehead. The home side were in trouble at 8-4 after good early bowling by sub pro' Doug Watson (5-70) and Tariq Hussain (2-25). After half the side had been dismissed for 36, Terry Lord (27), James Cunliffe (27 not out) and John Chapman (25) hit useful runs in the lower order. Lord fell to a superb running catch by Adam Wilson. Mohsin Ahmed (26) put on 70 with Watson (39) before both were dismissed and the Heavens opened with Accrington 78-2 after 31 overs, 17 short of victory.
