An
unbeaten century from Tama Canning took Accrington to a 32 run
win at Rishton. Canning hit 13 fours and four sixes in a 99 ball
knock as his side made 230-9 with skipper Matt Wilson hitting 36 and
Graeme Sneddon 21. Canning then sliced through the Rishton batting taking
4-34 as the home side subsided to 88-8. A 9th wicket stand of 103 between
Matt Leathert, who hit nine fours and a six in a career best 59 with
skipper Scott Greaves also hitting 57 with eight fours and two sixes
against his former club but Jimmy Hayhurst returned to remove them both
to record figures of 3-31. Canning ended with 4-76, including the wicket
of stand in pro' Ian Austin who was caught by substitute fielder Steve
Juliff, on for injured wicketkeeper Adam Barnes, for 44.
