Ramsbottom
(12pts) beat Accrington (0pts) by 8 wickets |
A
fine all round performance by Ramsbottom professional Kartik
Murali kept his side in with an outside chance of the title after a
resounding 8 wicket win over Accrington at Acre Bottom. The Indian
Test spinner took 7-47 and then hit an unbeaten 72 as Ramsbottom won
with half their overs in hand. Mohsin Ahmed hit 49 in 137 balls with
four boundaries before running himself out in the 46th over. His opening
partner Graeme Sneddon was next top scorer with 18 as Kartik ran through
the rest of the order to bowl the visitors out for 124 on the final
ball of the innings. The Indian then opened the innings and hit nine
fours and a six as Ramsbottom got home in double quick time. Alex Bell
(26) and David Bell (18 not out) gave Kartik good support.
