Accrington's
rich vein of form continued with a 4 wicket win over Ramsbottom
at Thorneyholme Road. Zahir Afzal took 4-52 and Tama Canning 3-53 in
the visitors 172-8. Sub-pro Sajith Fernando hit 85 and skipper Richard
Hevingham a late unbeaten 22. Mike Haslam removed openers Mohsin Ahmed
(9) and Adam Wilson (20) for 43 but consistent scoring from Canning
(25), Graeme Sneddon (12), Richard Burrows (25) and Matt Wilson (23)
took Accrington to 138-6. Stuart Crabtree and Jimmy Hayhurst then took
Accrington past the winning post with Crabtree hitting two fours and
a six in an unbeaten 20 and Hayhurst striking four fours and a six in
an unbeaten 32 as the home side made it four wins on the trot with 11
balls remaining.
