Accrington beat Oldham by 29 runs

Accrington reached the third round for only the second time by notching only their third win in the competition at the expense of Oldham at Thorneyholme Road. Graeme Sneddon hit his maiden senior half century, hitting ten boundaries in his innings of 67. No fewer than 51 extras boosted Accrington's score to 214 with 28 wides extending the innings. Neil Inkpen took 2-29 and Luke Proctor 2-34 for the visitors. After losing two early wickets Chris McDonnell (56) and 15 year-old Proctor put on 101 before McDonnell was stumped by Adam Barnes, who also took three catches. Professional Martin Smith then holed out to Sneddon's 'loosener' to give Accrington another breakthrough. The left handed Proctor hit seven fours and one six before being superbly caught by Mohsin Ahmed on the boundary off Zahir Afzal for 72. Afzal (4-32) and Tama Canning (4-23) then cleaned up the tail to give Accrington a 29 run victory.
