Lowerhouse
made it four wins out of four with a convincing 8 wicket win over early
pacesetters Accrington at Liverpool Road. Mohsin Ahmed returned
to form with 70, including four fours and his first ever six, but Accrington
were bowled out for 155. Off spinner Chris Benbow did the damage with
4-49 and Saeed Riaz took 2-32 including the vital wicket of Accrington
professional Tama Canning who was caught behind by Charlie Cottam first
ball. Stuart Crabtree again batted well for 18, but Lowerhouse made
light of the target, getting home in the 34th over. Vishal Tripathi
again batted impressively in scoring an unbeaten 77 with 11 boundaries
and a six. Jonathan Finch made 52 in an opening stand of 94 as Accrington
tried six bowlers. Mohsin Ahmed took the bowling honours for the visitors,
picking up 2-34 in six overs of left arm spin.
