Canning passed 50 wickets for the season when he bowled Accrington
to victory at Dill Hall Lane. Canning took 6-45 as the visitors
beat Enfield for the first time in three attempts this season.
Accrington again lost early wickets but the middle order of Graeme Sneddon
(29), Zahir Afzal (15), Stuart Crabtree (27) and skipper Matt Wilson
(21) fought back to score 147-8. Three run outs, two in the same order,
added to the fun. After losing skipper Mas Ahmed to Canning for 2, home
professional Alviro Petersen (33) and Adam Bracewell (52) took the score
to 84 before Sneddon dismissed them both. The all rounder finished with
3-17 with Canning picking up the last three wickets to fall for just
5 runs in 4 overs.
