Accrington
inflicted a record equalling 24th defeat of the season on Rishton.
Accrington professional Andre Seymore turned in a match winning performance
on his farewell performance at Thorneyholme Road, hitting a half century
and then taking 4-40 as Rishton were restricted to 125-9 in reply to
Accrington's 140-5 in a reduced 31 overs a side game. Seymore hit eight
boundaries in his 57 and he put on 52 with Richard Burrows who again
batted well for 25. Matt Wilson shook off the Michael Vaughan syndrome
as he hit 32 in a 3rd wicket stand of 46 with Seymore. Professional
Rob Nicol was Rishton's best bowler with 4-66. Sam Hacking hit 28 and
Jonathan Dobson 20 but it was Accrington who took the honours with Damian
Clarke picking up 3-44 and James Hayhurst 2-25.
