Next
on the record breaking list came Lowerhouse's Chris Bleazard,
who scored his 10,000th Lancashire League run for Lowerhouse in his
innings of 106 not out at Accrington. The 36 year-old became
the 14th batsman in the league's history and the first from Lowerhouse
to achieve this milestone. Bleazard hit eight fours and three sixes
in his innings as his side won by 95 runs. Damian Clarke (3-47) and
Sajjad Sadiq (2-47), making his debut, were Accrington's best bowlers
as the visitors piled up 236-5 against Accrington's inexperienced attack.
Without leading paceman Jimmy Hayhurst, who was injured at work during
the week, the home sides problems increased when Zahir Afzal damaged
his hamstring taking a catch and then Adam Barnes got hit on the head
whilst running a leg bye during Accrington's reply. Andre Seymore hit
seven fours in his 36, Mohsin Ahmed 25 and Matt Wilson 47 in the best
knock of Accrington's reply of 141. Jonny Russell took 3-40, Jez Hope
2-5 and Kamran Farooq 2-53 for Lowerhouse.
