Jimmy
Hayhurst took his first five wicket haul in the Lancashire League but
Accrington still went down to a 76 run defeat by East Lancs at Thorneyholme
Road. Paul Turner hit his maiden Lancashire League century for the visitors.
Turner hit ten fours and four sixes as East Lancs racked up 232-9. Hayhurst
took 5-50 with Damian Clarke taking 3-58 but Phil Mercer (45 not out),
Andy Clague (31) and Johann Louw (19) all kept the scoreboard ticking
for the visitors. Andre Seymore hit 52, Mohsin Ahmed 20 and John Pilling
19 but Hugh Doyle took 4-18 to mop up the Accrington tail as the home
side were dismissed for 156.
