Accrington
secured their second victory of the weekend after hitting 235-7 at Burnley.
Professional Andre Seymore hit 82 and Zahir Afzal a career best 68 in
a 2nd wicket stand of 145. Seymore hit 13 boundaries in his innings
which took his total runs for the season to 1235, second only to Bobby
Simpson's record of 1444 set back in 1959. Afzal hit nine fours in his
maiden league fifty. James Hayhurst hit 38 and then took 3-43 as Burnley
were bowled out for 166. Pierre Joubert hit 70 to extend his new Burnley
batting record to 1245 runs but wickets fell around him with only Michael
Kelly (23), Gareth Halley (22) and Steven Brunt (20) offering much support.
Steve Juliff took 2-41 and Afzal 2-31.
