Ramsbottom
(10pts) beat Accrington (1pt) by 5 wickets |
Accrington
threw away the chance of an end of season victory at Acre Bottom. Ramsbottom
were in trouble at 31-5 after Jimmy Hayhurst had taken 3-35, but professional
Mohammed Haroon (68 not out) and Alex Bell (55 not out) put on 128 for
the sixth wicket to take Ramsbottom to a 5 wicket victory. Accrington
professional Andre Seymore had earlier just failed in his attempt to
overtake Jacques Rudolph at the top of the league run list, holing out
on 18, 7 runs short of Rudolph's 1121. Graeme Sneddon again underlined
his promise with 21 and Matt Wilson hit 56, his second half century
of the season in Accrington's 158-8. Debutant Stuart Crabtree (11) and
Hayhurst (12) put on an unbroken 20 for the ninth wicket. Wily campaigner
Mark Price took 4-36 and Chris Eardley 2-38 for Ramsbottom.
