Accrington
v Church
Four Accrington old boys enjoyed at day out at Thorneyhome Road as Church beat Accrington on run rate. Former skipper Mark Aspin hit 50 with one time Accrington professional Colin Miller hitting 20 on his return to the club where he was paid man in 1995. Nick Westwell took 3-26 and John Seedle hit an unbeaten 25, both players having brief spells at the club in the distant past. Accrington began well with Andre Seymore (75) and Stefan Heins (46) putting together an opening stand worth 96 but the innings ended on 158-4. Seymore has now hit six successive half centuries. Tariq Hussain (12 not out) also became the 65th amateur to score 1,000 runs for Accrington. Church needed 144 in 35 overs and managed it with 6 wickets down.
