A magnificent unbeaten 119 by Nathan Astle took Accrington to a second home win of the season. Matthew Mott had earlier hit 88 for Rawtenstall in their total of 191 - 8, with Astle picking up 5 - 46 and new seam bowler Asim Hussain 3 - 45 in a promising debut. The New Zealander ended his second ton for Accrington with three successive boundaries to win the match after sharing in a stand of 66 for the third wicket with skipper Mas Ahmed.
