Ramsbottom 197-7, Accrington 138 League leaders Ramsbottom began the weekend with a lead of 4 points, a position they maintained with a 12 point win over Accrington on Saturday at Acre Bottom. Half centuries by captain Mark Price (55) and Mark Dentith (56 not out) took the home side to 197 - 7. Bradley Hodge (32) and opener Tommy Read (25) also made useful contributions with Accrington's Tariq Hussain taking 4 - 59 in 14 overs. The visitors reply began with wickets falling alarmingly. Mick Haslam accounted for Mushtaq and Moshin Ahmed and skipper Mas Ahmed was run out without scoring. The left armer picked up Matt Wilson and Lee Daggett dismissed Adam Greenwood and Tariq Hussain to have Accrington in desperate trouble at 25 - 6. Stand in professional Tama Canning (21) and Sajed Sadiq took the score to 54 when left arm spin twins Garfield Moreton and Mark Price took over. Moreton removed Canning with a return catch and then dismissed Steve Juliff with Price accounting for debutant Adam Barnes for 9 and Damian Clarke for 7. Throughout this mayhem, number eight Sadiq stood firm to reach his maiden league half century, finishing unbeaten on 72.
