It was a good day out for the Hope's at Thorneyholme Road with Nick making 59 and bowlers Matt and Jez sharing 9 wickets between them in Lowerhouse's 14 run victory over Accrington. Facing a rain reduced target of 145 from 47 overs after the visitors made 149 - 9, Accrington collapsed from 76 - 1 to 130 all out. Matt Hope took 5 - 63 and brother Jez 4 - 37 for Lowerhouse and Nathan Astle, playing his last match of the season before returning to international duty, scored 53. Unluckiest man of the day was opener Steve Birtwistle (27) who was run out after an Astle straight drive was deflected on to the stumps by the bowler. Scorecard
