Accrington overtook Burnley by defeating them by 29 runs at Turf Moor. A fourth wicket stand of 104 between professional Nathan Astle (50) and Mas Ahmed (63) formed the backbone of the visitors 212 - 7. Steve Birtwistle (22), Matt Wilson (19) and Wayne Roberts (16) also made useful contributions to the total. James Anderson (3 - 40) and Steven Holden (3 - 51) were the pick of the bowlers. Burnley got off to a good reply with Ian Whitehead (34) and Paul Killian (19) putting on 56 for the first wicket, but Damian Clarke took 5 - 63 with his left arm spin to dismiss the home side for 183.
