Accrington went down to a second defeat of the weekend, losing to Todmorden by 2 wickets in a low scoring game at Thorneyholme Road. Todmorden professional Aaron Gale took 7-31 and James Morgan picked up 3-22 to bowl Accrington out for 62. Professional Colin Miller was the only man in double figures with 29. the Australian following up by taking 6-31 but Todmorden edged home in the 36th over with only David Whitehead (12) making double figures. Six Accrington players failed to score - opener Russell Edmonds, Stefan Heins, Mark Demaine, Alistair Cunliffe, Damian Clarke and Azad Akram (unbeaten). Skipper Mark Aspin hit 8, Wayne Roberts 6, Martin Whittle 3 and Tofeeq Khan 2 with Whitehead taking five catches behind the wicket. Visiting skipper Stuart Priestley (8) and John Barker (8) put on 12 before falling to Miller who also picked up Brian Heywood (5), Whitehead, Andy Barker (9) and Gary Proctor (0). Mark Clayton was run out without scoring and Gale (4) fell to Aspin, leaving Heath Kennedy (8 not out) and Ibrar Ali (1 not out) to see Todmorden over the line.
