Enfield v Accrington
The return of professional Colin Miller after missing five matches with a foot injury, inspired Accrington to a 7 wicket win at Enfield, ending a run of ten successive defeats. Miller hit an unbeaten 77, including ten fours and three sixes to lead Accrington to a fourth win of the season in the 41st over of a 43 overs a-side game. Enfield professional Franklyn Rose top scored with 68, including eight fours and three sixes, in the home sides 187-6. Martin Whittle picked up Mas Ahmed (19) at 24 with Len Dewhurst (3-78) sending back opener Dean Barker (19) at 55, skipper Andy Barker (25) at 96 and Rose at 153. Miller (2-80 from 21 overs) chipped in with the wickets of David Baker (16), who was stumped by Russell Edmonds at 179, and Warren Eastham (2) was was bowled at 181. Accrington lost Arif Hussain who was caught behind by Andy McMinn off Rose for 14 at 30. Edmonds and Whittle then added 58 for the 2nd wicket before Edmonds was bowled by Mick Devenney for 35. Paul Clarke removed Whittle (25) at 102 but Paul Barratt (16 not out) joined Miller to see Accrington to victory with an unbroken 4th wicket stand of 90.
