Skipper Mark Aspin (5-38) and professional Colin Miller (4-41) combined to take 9 wickets between them to help bowl Accrington to a 32 run win over Bacup at Thorneyholme Road. Miller also top scored with 48 in Accrington's 154-9. John Nuttall removed Arif Hussain (1) at 2. Professional Roger Harper had Aspin caught by David Ormerod (15) and Tofeeq Khan (a career best 31) stumped by Roy Cronshaw. Peter Cook trapped opener Russell Edmonds in front for 18 and Ormerod took 3-44 from 14 overs, bagging Miller, Stefan Heins and Scott Greaves. Martin Whittle (16) and Justin Greenwood (2) were both run out with Wayne Roberts unbeaten on 4 when the innings closed on 154-9. Aspin then knocked over Bacup's top five batsmen, sending back Peter Killelea (2), Mark Taylor (12), Harper (6), David Thompson (0) and skipper Peter Thompson who passed 5,000 Lancashire League runs during his innings of 6. Miller then got in on the act by sending back Nick Cronshaw (14), Cook (28), Terry Lord (19) and Roy Cronshaw (7) with Greenwood cleaning up Nuttall (1) in Accrington's second successive home win of the season.
