Accrington suffered a second 10 wicket defeat of the weekend this time at Acre Bottom to title chasing Ramsbottom to stay firmly entrenched at the bottom of the table. Brian Holmes made 28, Martin Whittle 24, skipper mark Aspin 22 and professional Sherwin Campbell 15 in Accrington's 121-9 from a rain reduced 38 overs. Steve Dearden took 3-28, professional Keith Arthurton 2-17, Nick Riley 2-31 and Mick Mills 2-32. Ian Bell hit eight fours in his unbeaten 59 with Brian Taylor hitting seven fours in an unbeaten 54 to see Ramsbottom home in the 21st over.
