Title chasing East Lancs beat bottom club Accrington by 19 runs at Alexandra Meadows. Home skipper Phil Mooney hit a career best unbeaten 51, including four fours and six in his team's 180-7. Openers Dave Pearson (36) and Phil Bolton (21) put on 39 with lower order support from Nas Iqbal (13 not out) and Andy Clague (12). Martin Whittle took 3-29 for Accrington. Iqbal then took a career best 4-28 to help bowl Accrington out for 161. Opener Mark Stevenson was run out before a run had been scored but professional Sherwin Campbell joined Nick Marsh to put on 41 before the amateur fell to Paul Kelly for 12. Paul Barratt (23) joined forces with Campbell to add another 57 before he was bowled by Mooney. Campbell's league best knock of 69 ended when he edged Iqbal behind to Matt Egan, after hitting eight fours. Three runs later skipper Mark Aspin (19) was cleaned up by professional Alan Dawson. Tofeeq Khan (11) was the only other man in double figures as Iqbal took 4-5 in 3 overs to help East Lancs claim full points with five balls remaining.
