Accrington lost out to Colne in a rain affected game for the second time this season. Colne professional Chris Killen took 6-37 and Gary Laycock picked up 4-46 to bowl Accrington out for 116. Skipper Mark Aspin hit 38, Nick Marsh 22, Mark Stevenson 16, Justin Greenwood 15 and Len Dewhurst 10 on his Lancashire League debut. Ian Birtwistle's dismissal of John Lambert (16) at 47 was the veteran's final Lancashire League wicket. The scores were level when rain brought an end to proceedings with Colne well ahead on run rate in the 33rd over. Killen was unbeaten on 63, including eight fours and a six, and Gary Hunt was unbeaten on 21.
