Skipper Bob Holmes took a career best 8-17 to bowl Rawtenstall to a 160 run win at Accrington. John Kershaw top scored with 61 in Rawtenstall's 205-2. Kershaw hit five fours, adding 121 with Peter Wood who hit four fours in making 58, passing 13,000 Lancashire League runs during his innings. Glenn Barlow (49 not out) and professional Michael Bevan (22 not out) added an unbroken 77 for the 3rd wicket to see the visitors to 205-5 at the end of their 46 overs. Pat Rush picked up skipper Nick Marsh (4) and Martin Whittle (6) with Holmes running through the rest of the order. Professional Neil Johnson (1) fell at 5, Billy Rawstron (1) at 11, Paul Barratt (8( at 28, Mark Demaine (6) at 31. Neil Holmes (2) at 32, Tofeeq Khan (0) at 35 on his senior debut, wicketkeeper Mick Wilson (4) at 43 and Vernon Woods (1) at 45 leaving Mark Greenhalgh unbeaten on 7.
