Professional Dipak Patel hit an unbeaten 76 to lead Accrington to a 4 wicket win at Lowerhouse. Patel bowled unchanged to take 3-69 from 23 overs with Steve Juliff also taking 4-72 in the home sides 176-9. Patel's first victim was opener Gary Moorhouse who was bowled for 2 with the score on 17. Home professional Cameron Williamson was next to go caught by Patel off Juliff for 24 at 29. Chris Bleazard and Nick Hope added 55 for the 3rd wicket before Hope fell to Patel for 9. Bleazard and David Whalley added a further 56 for the 4th wicket before Bleazard's fine innings of 87 ended when skipper Nick Marsh took the catch off Juliff. Bleazard hit seven fours and three sixes from the 108 balls that he faced. One run later Juliff cleaned up Andy McNicholas without scoring. Matt Hope (3) was caught by Juliff off Patel at 168 and Whalley was run out for 39 at 175. One run later Ryan Hesketh (5) fell to Juliff and wicketkeeper Chris Scott (1) was run out without addition leaving skipper Jez Hope (0) unbeaten at the close. Opener Neil Barnes (6) fell to Williamson (4-80) at 18 but Patel added 42 with Marsh (26), 29 with Bob Collins (13), 24 with Paul Barratt (11), 13 with Martin Whittle (5) with the home professional also accounting for Morgan Whipp without scoring. Mark Demaine hit a senior best unbeaten 28with some lusty blows to add an unbroken 53 with Patel to see Accrington to victory in the 44th over. Patel hit eight boundaries during his fine unbeaten innings. Accrington are in 9th place with 29 points from 15 games. Scorecard
