Accrington 1st XI 1992

Haslingden hit the top score of the 1st Round in a 159 run win at Accrington. Professional Phil Simmons hit 97 with Mike Ingham (38) and Neil Grindrod (34) offering good support as Accrington's bowlers toiled away under a baking hot sun. Mark Greenhalgh picked up 5-61 but Haslingden still piled up a formidable 230-9. Home professional Dipak Patel bowled just 6 overs, conceding 37 runs without taking a wicket. Simmons then took 4-33 and spinner Mick Tracey 3-7 as the home side managed just 71 with Morgan Whipp top scoring with 25 on his cup debut for Accrington. Scorecard
