Accrington were denied a win at Burnley when the match was abandoned due to rain with the visitors 102-2 chasing Burnley's 123-5. After Mark Greenhalgh had opener Terry Little caught by Bob Collins for 5 at 12, Accrington professional Dipak Patel (3-37) had a hand in all the other 4 wickets to fall. Patel had Mark Harvey caught by Damian Clarke for 34 at 58. He then caught his opposite number Sam Skeete off Greenhalgh without scoring with the score on 62. Patel then accounted for skipper Roger Law (17) and Peter Brown (8). Duncan Spencer was unbeaten on 46 and wicketkeeper Andy McLeod was on 2 when the innings finally closed at the end of the 27th over after several long interruptions at 6.05pm. Accrington's reply began at 6.20pm and when the match was abandoned at 8.03pm they had lost skipper Nick Marsh (9)and Patel (14) to Bob Whitaker with Bob Collins still there on 42 and Paul Barratt unbeaten on 17 after 17 overs. Accrington stay in 10th place with 30 points from 18 games. Scorecard
