Nelson joined Rishton and East Lancs at the top of the table after a crushing 9 wicket win at Accrington. Kevin Cullen took 4-16 and Joe Scuderi 3-27 as Accrington subsided to 35-6. Paul Barratt led a fightback with a top score of 40 after the early order, including professional Shane Warne (0) at number six, crumbled. Mark Demaine (20) and Paul Seedle (13) added late runs to take the home side to 106, but after Mark Greenhalgh had removed Colin Heap with 5 on the board, all interest centered on which batsman would reach his half century first as Ian Clarkson (50) and Scuderi (52) took Nelson to an easy victory after 22.1 overs with Ronnie Barnes conceding 21 from his first senior over as the amateur won the race.
