New Lancashire League champions Haslingden rounded off the season with a 78 run win at next to bottom club Accrington. Professional Phil Simmons hit 55, Neil Grindrod an unbeaten 59 and Bryan Knowles 46 in Haslingden's 203-5. Mike Ingham failed to get the 129 runs he needed to reach 1,000 for the first time, making just 1 before being dismissed by Paul Seedle. Mick Tracey took 5-24 and Simmons 3-41 to dismiss Accrington for 125. Sub professional Robert Haynes top scored with 32, Neil Holmes made 17, Billy Rawstron 16 and Paul Barratt 15 for the home side.
