East Lancs won for the third time to put pressure on the leaders. The champions beat Accrington at Alexandra Meadows by 5 wickets after restricting the visitors to 139-7. Andy Barker hit 35, Paul Seedle an unbeaten 27 and Graham Beech 21 with Phil Mooney picking up 4-32 for East Lancs. Accrington hit back swiftly reducing the home side to 32-5 with Martin Whittle picking up 4-20 after Steve Juliff had David Pearson caught by professional Shane Warne without scoring. Home professional Paul Reiffel then got together with Mooney to defy the Accrington attack with Warne toiling away for 0-40 off 11 overs as the East Lancs pair put on a match winning 110. Reiffel was unbeaten on 70 with Mooney making 34. Scorecard
