Accrington 1st XI 1991
Accrington won for the third time with professional Shane Warne taking 5-36 in a 50 run win over Colne at Thorneyholme Road. A 93 run partnership for the 4th wicket by Billy Rawstron (55 not out) and Paul Barratt (44) formed the basis of a total of 183-5 after Hartley Alleyne had dismissed Nick Marsh (8) and Mark Stevenson (0) and Warne had fallen to Daryl Halstead. A staggering 46 extras also contributed to the home sides total. Mark Greenhalgh (2-33) made early inroads by dismissing Halstead (7) and John Lambert (4) and then Warne took over taking 5 wickets for the fifth time. Martin Whittle also chipped in with 3-30 as Colne slipped to 91-8 until Nigel Rimmer hit a late unbeaten 26 to take Colne to 133. Scorecard
