Haslingden 157-2, Accrington 156-6 Haslingden completed the double over Accrington with an 8 wicket win at Bentgate. Recalled veteran opener Geoff Hayhurst top scored with 63 in Accrington's 156-6. Hayhurst put on 56 with fellow left hander Nick Marsh before Marsh was bowled by Haslingden professional Eddo Brandes for 27. Sub professional Ian Austin made 30 against his former club before becoming the first of four wickets for Mick Tracey (4-51) at 110. Twenty-two runs later Hayhurst was trapped in front by Tracey having hit eight fours from the 98 balls that he faced. Graham Beech made an unbeaten 17 from 43 balls as Tracey dismissed Billy Rawstron (1) and Paul Barratt (4) and Alan Barnes clean bowled Andy Gardener (1) leaving stand-in skipper Trevor Hatch unbeaten on 7 with Beech at the end of the innings. Austin removed his opposite number Brandes for 27 at 60 and Ian Birtwistle accounted for skipper Bryan Knowles at 74 after the opener had made 41 from 75 balls. Rawstron had a hand in both wickets. Bob Collins then hit an unbeaten 51 from 54 balls with six fours adding an unbroken 83 for the 3rd wicket with Mike Ingham who made an unbeaten 30.
