Colne 133-7 , Accrington 144-5

Accrington's replayed match at Colne ended in a run rate victory for the visitors when rain halted Colne's reply on 133-7 after Accrington had made 144-5 in 42 overs. The match was interrupted five times after the original game ended with Colne on 19-6 replying to Accrington's 150-7 on June 6th. Openers Nick Marsh and Neil Barnes put on 43 before Steve Hipgrave dismissed Barnes for 18. Sub professional Ian Austin made 15 before falling to his opposite number Tyrone Greenidge with the score on 68. Marsh also fell to the West Indian after hitting six fours in a 73 ball innings of 41. Graham Beech finished unbeaten on 29, losing Paul Barratt (5) at 100 and David Lloyd (19) at 127. Jim Stevenson was also unbeaten on 8 when the innings closed. Greenidge finished with 3-68 from 21 overs. Lloyd removed openers Paul Simmonite (19) and Terry Little (45) at 34 and 101 with Austin dismissing Geoff Fryers at 45. Hipgrave was run out for 5 and when Lloyd had Kevin Cullen caught by Marsh without scoring, Colne were 107-5 at the end of the 37th over. Andy Riley accelerated to a 56 ball half century finishing unbeaten on 54 from 61 balls with three fours and two sixes but Peter Little (0) and Gary Laycock (1) fell to Ian Birtwistle and Lloyd (4-25) in the quest for quick runs as the overs ran out.
