New league leaders Accrington's winning run of ten matches in all competitions was ended in brutal fashion by Todmorden. the visitors rolled Accrington over for just 48 and then knocked off the runs without loss in just 14.2 overs. Professional Darryl Scott took 6-22 and left armer John Townend 4-20 to demolish the home sides batting line up. Openers Billy Rawstron (5) and Andy Stevenson (2) took the score to 10 when Townend had Rawstron caught by Scott. The Australian then had Stevenson caught behind by Davis Whitehead and followed up by trapping his opposite number Rod Tucker in front without scoring. Townend then had Graham Lloyd caught behind without scoring. Whitehead picked up catch number three to send back David Lloyd without scoring to give Scott his third wicket. The home side lost five wickets with the score on 10 and couldn't score a run as Todmorden sent down six successive maidens. An extra broke the sequence but two more wickets fell on 11 as Scott sent back both Neil Jones and Mark Aspin without scoring. Andy Gardener at last provided some resistance, making 26, adding 17 with Paul Barratt (5) and 20 with Alan Worsick (2) before being last man out. Accrington's innings lasted 25.1 overs and contained six ducks. Albert Ross (14 not out) and Ian Smith (33 not out) knocked off the runs in just 14.2 overs at 4.45pm. Inspite of losing Accrington stay top but by just 1 point from Nelson. Scorecard
