The penultimate match of the season saw Accrington slip to a 5 wicket defeat at Lowerhouse. Professional Rod Tucker top scored with an unbeaten 63 in Accrington's 133-6. Tucker hit six fours from the 113 balls that he face after coming to the crease with the score on 17-2. Openers Geoff Hayhurst (7) and Andy Gardener (4) fell to Roger Bromley (2-26) and professional Tony Dodemaide (2-47) with the amateur also snapping up Graham Lloyd (6). Billy Rawstron (17) added 35 with Tucker and David Lloyd (21) helped the Australian add 47. Stan Heaton made his second half century of the season against Accrington, hitting an unbeaten 55 from 86 balls with four fours and two sixes. Heaton added 28 with Dodemaide (13) after openers Phil Astin (21) and Keith Fairclough (10) had both fallen at 36. Brian Higgin contributed 12 to a 4th wicket stand of 44 with Heaton who then dominated a 5th wicket stand of 25 with Chris Bleazard (3) who fell to the Lloyds. Ian Birtwistle took 2-31 and David Lloyd 2-48 for Accrington. Accrington drop down to fifth place, 17 points behind leaders Nelson. Scorecard
