David Lloyd hit his second century for the club in Accrington's 75 run win over Rishton at Thorneyholme Road. The home professional made 116 from 138 balls with thirteen fours and a six, picking up a £20.83 collection for his first ever league century for the club. Billy Rawstron returned to form making 34 in an 86 run opening stand with his professional. Lloyd then put on 89 with his son Graham who made a 43 ball 32 before being caught by Phil Sykes off Rishton professional Mike van Vuuren. Lloyd senior was finally out with the score on 196 with van Vuuren finishing with 2-81 from a full 23 over stint and Robbie Walsh conceding 106 runs in taking the wickets of Rawstron and Andy Stevenson (2) from 22 overs. Tight bowling by Ian Birtwistle who took 4-16, David Lloyd (2-15), Alan Worsick (2-31) and Mark Aspin (2-37) restricted the visitors to 127 all out. After losing openers Mick Eddleston (1) and David Wilson (3) along with David Wells (11) cheaply, van Vuuren (45) and skipper John Ainscough (24) put on 56 which was the only noteworthy stand of the innings. Barrie Hill (10) was the only other player in double figures as Accrington picked up their ninth bonus point of the season to move into second place above East Lancs who lost at Church. Scorecard
