A career best bowling performance by Mark Aspin helped Accrington to a huge 104 run win over Enfield at Thorneyholme Road. The young all rounder took 7-34 after Billy Rawstron's third half century of the season had helped the home side post 172-8. Professional David Lloyd made 17 out of an opening stand of 44 with Rawstron. Graham Lloyd then took over, adding 54 with the wicketkeeper/batsman who was next to go after facing 99 balls in making 66 and earning a collection of £23.03. Graham Lloyd left at 114 after making 27 and wickets tumbled with Enfield professional Hugh Page taking 4-59 to reduce Accrington to 129-6. Andy Stevenson (21 not out) was then joined by Alan Worsick who hit a typical 31 from 19 balls to enable the home side to make 172-8 from their 46 eight ball overs. Worsick cleaned up ex Accrington man Graham Beech (2) with just 3 on the board and 10 runs later he sent back Keith Barker (8). Stand-in skipper David Lloyd dismissed Andy Barker for 27 with the score on 44 and then Mark 'Fred' Aspin took over claiming the last 7 wickets at a cost of just 8 runs to roll Enfield over for just 68. Gary Barker (10) was the only other player in double figures. The win took Accrington up to third place in the table. Scorecard
