Accrington made it four wins out of five by comprehensively beating Church by 10 wickets at Thorneyholme Road. Mark Aspin teamed up with his professional David Lloyd to roll Church over for just 69, the amateur taking 5-35 and Lloyd 5-16. The visitors had a reasonable start seeing off the ever dangerous Alan Worsick in putting on 24 for the first wicket before Aspin cleaned up Billy Wilkinson for 8. The medium pacer struck again 3 runs later removing the other opener Gerard Metcalf in identical fashion for 15. Ian Osborne was next to go caught by skipper Trevor Hatch for 9 and then Lloyd claimed the wicket of Church skipper Steve Metcalf with Hatch again taking the catch. Professional Ian Callen became victim number four for Aspin with wicketkeeper Tommy George falling next to earn the amateur a £28.09 collection. Lloyd then ran through the tail, sending back Barry Wilson, Nick Westwell, Alan Rawcliffe and the evergreen Jack Houldsworth to leave Martin Heyes stranded on 13 the only other batsman to make double figures. It took Billy Rawstron and Lloyd just 20.2 overs to rattle off the runs with Rawstron making 20 from 55 balls and Lloyd 49 from 67 balls. Scorecard
