Cup holders East Lancs progressed to the semi finals as group winners after beating Accrington by 12 runs at Thorneyholme Road in the third and final round of matches. Brian Ratcliffe made 82 and professional Mark O'Neill 69 with Accrington skipper Alan Richardson taking 4-26 in 5 overs. Graham Beech (60) and Geoff Hayhurst (78) put on 109 in 31 overs but Accrington finished 12 short with only 4 wickets down. Stead made 22 with John Seedle taking 2-42 for East Lancs. Scorecard
