A second defeat of the double header weekend saw Ramsbottom edge a nail-biting 2 run win at Acre Bottom.
Navvy Loomba top scored with a career best 40 in Ramsbottom's 128-9. Opener Mick Everett made 27, Peter Ashworth 18 with Ian Birtwistle taking 6-21, including his 400th Lancashire League wicket. Dave Parsons also took 3-49.
Geoff Hayhurst (18) and John Swanney (18) put on 53 after Graham Beech had to retire hurt with bruised fingers in Ghavri's first over before a run had been scored. Maurice Haslam (3-46) dismissed them both along with Alan Richardson (6).
Ghavri picked up Malcolm Taylor (15) and professional Alan Worsick in successive balls with 80 on the board. Skipper Peter West (28) and Ian Birtwistle (18) then put on what appeared to be a match winning stand of 44 but Brian Fielding returned to the attack in a last throw of the dice and removed them both leaving Accrington 2 runs short of victory on 126-7.
Accrington dropped to fourth place after this defeat.
