Accrington got back to winning ways to m ove back up tio third place in the table after two successive defeats with a 6 wicket win over Nelson at Seedhill. It was a good day for Accrington professional Alan Worsick who took 5-32, including his 700th Lancashire League wicket, to bowl Nelson out for 83.
Derek Grandfield top scored with an unbeaten 29, opener John reed made 16 and professional Larry Gomes 15 before falling to Dave Parsons.
Accrington struggled to 14-3 and 33-4 with Gomes picking up Graham Beech (7), Geoff Hayhurst (4), John Swanney (15) and Alan Richardson (0) but Malcolm Taylor (34 not out) and skipper Peter West (24 not out) saw Accrington home in the 22nd over. Scorecard
