Accrington 107, Colne 50
Dave Parsons took a career best 7-17 to bowl Accrington to a 57 run win over Colne at Thorneyholme Road. The left arm paceman ran through the visitors batting line up again picking up the opposition professional, dismissing Rakesh Chandra Shukla for 2, courtesy of a catch by Ian Birtwistle who picked up the other three wickets at a cost of 21 runs. Parsons earned a collection of £28 with Gate receipts £83. Terry Little (12) and Trevor Lonsdale (10) were the only Colne batsmen in double figures as the visitors were rolled over for just 50 on a pitch of uneven pace and bounce to give Accrington their second win of the season. Accrington had themselves struggled to 107 all out with Shukla picking up 5-51 and Trevor Boardwell 2-15. Openers Graham Beech (4) and Geoff Hayhurst (15) put on 21 before Shukla bagged them both. John Wainscott removed John Swanney (1) and Alan Richardson was run out for 18 after adding 47 for the 4th wicket with Malcolm Taylor, who top scored with 28. Both men were dismissed at 76 along with skipper Peter West but professional Alan Worsick made 16 to help his side into three figures, but three wickets fell for the addition of 7 runs to close the innings in the penultimate over for 107.
