Graham Beech top scored with 40 in Accrington’s 44 run win over Haslingden at Thorneyholme Road. The opener hit three fours and a five in a 99 minute stay at the crease. John Ingham took 3-30 and Jack Coupe 3-44 with Tony Gallagher hitting a typical unbeaten 24, Malcolm Taylor 22 and John Swanney 18 in the home sides’ innings. Professional Alan Worsick took the vital early scalps of his opposite number Peter Swart (13) and the dangerous Bryan Knowles without scoring in picking up 5-32 as the visitors were restricted to 96-9. Ian Cocker top scored with 30 and Tony Holden made 19 for Haslingden with home skipper Ian Birtwistle picking up 3-19. Scorecard
