Accrington completed the double over Rawtenstall with a 5 wicket win at Thorneyholme Road. Alan Worsick took 4-30 and Ian Birtwistle 2-27 with Tony Gallagher taking 2-2 to dismiss Rawtenstall for 80. Skipper Keith French hit 20 and Brian Payne 23. Abid Ali (2-22) and George Croisdale (2-28) then reduced the champions to 25-4 but Malcolm Taylor (23 not out) and Worsick (30 from 42 balls) took the score to 68 to put Accrington back in charge.
